The V2 includes technical and design upgrades, an AI Trump imitator and genetics and computer vision tools.
Hong Kong, Leading AI company SingularityNET has announced the release of its the Beta V2. version of its decentralized AI platform, which lets anyone create, share, and deploy AI services at scale. The release features a revamped user interface, as well as significant back-end technical upgrades designed to facilitate a smooth developer and end-user onboarding experience.
The V2 release also features a broad library of AI services, applying open-source AI tools to images, texts and genomic data for a variety of practical purposes. For instance, the Text Sentiment Analysis service determines how sensational an article is; the Image Colorization service colorizes old pictures. The Image Alteration Detection service tells what edits were done on an image, and the Deep Fashion service recognizes clothing items and brands from photographs. The upgraded Genomic Annotation Service, produced in partnership with Mozi AI Health, features additional biological ontologies that researchers can use to connect their genetic analysis results to biomedical databases integrated within the OpenCog AGI Engine.
A popular favorite is the text generation service, which generates Trump-like tweets, based on an AI model trained by the SingularityNET AI team on The Donald’s literary productions, using a GPT-2-like neural architecture with some custom modifications. Who can argue with a decentralized AI service capable of sharing nuggets of wisdom like:
‘I was visiting the Queen of England When I heard @realDonaldTrump visited the #Scotland golf course, I knew it had to be the right place!’
‘Just watched Saturday night live, that guy with the hair is so handsome, he kind of reminds me of me only not so great. @nbcsnl @ABFalecbaldwin’
The new usability-enhancing features of the V2 include:
- Free trial — The free trial period will ensure that users and community members can work with AI algorithms and is part of SingularityNET’s commitment to democratize AI services.
- Integration Options — A dedicated section per service on integration will make it easy for the end-users to invoke the AI service via the Javascript and Python SDK.
- Multiple payment options — The V2 payment infrastructure is set-up to integrate with fiat payment channels, alongside cryptocurrency payment options like our native AGI token. This feature will be used to enable integrated PayPal payment for services, in an upgrade to the V2 to be released later in the fall.
Taken together these improvements constitute a major step toward a decentralized, blockchain-based AI marketplace that is competitive with, and in some respects exceeds, the AI offerings of the centralized big tech firms.
Ben Goertzel, CEO of SingularityNET, reflects that: “ The new SingularityNET beta version brings us further toward realization of the grand vision of powerful decentralized AGI that has animated us since we founded the project in 2017. To make SingularityNET a success we need not only a highly capable and scalable platform populated with brilliant AI algorithms, we also need the platform to have an appealing user experience. What we’re doing here is setting the stage for massive adoption of the platform as 2019 and 2020 unfold — moving one step at a time toward the decentralized AGI revolution .”
This release comes only a few weeks after the announcement of a partnership between the SingularityNET Foundation and the People’s Insurance Company of China (PICC) , which will involve application of some of the same AI tools featured in the Beta V2, along with other SingularityNET AI tools, to solve critical problems for PICC’s insurance business across automotive, agriculture and other verticals.
ABOUT SINGULARITYNET
SingularityNET is a full-stack AI solution powered by a decentralized protocol. The core goal is to provide an intelligent fabric for AI algorithms to talk to each other — and in doing so, to provide both a teeming commercial marketplace for advanced AI solutions across vertical markets and the basis for the emergence of the world’s first true Artificial General Intelligence. The SingularityNET founders believe in open source and decentralized control, so that no single individual, corporation, or government will be able to dominate AI as it becomes increasingly more generally intelligent and capable. The project gathered the leading minds in machine learning and blockchain to democratize access to AI technology.
